We are committed to a culture of health and safety - for everyone, by everyone and in everything we do.Reporting to the Engineering Manager, theMechanical Project Engineeris primarily responsible for coordinating capital projects to improve equipment and product quality, reduce production and energy consumption costs, and improve the health and safety of our workers.What you can expect…Project ManagementAssume responsibility for the management of capital projects under your supervision, including feasibility studies, cost studies, installation, modification, start-up, and post-start-up follow-up.Prepare technical plans and specifications in collaboration with other team members and/or with the help of external consultants while respecting the company’s needs and allocated budget. Consider the impacts on the health and safety of workers, the environment, etc.Analyze bids, make recommendations, develop and help present business case to senior management.Prepare contractual documents in accordance with the technical specifications.Manage project procurement and relationships with vendors.Monitor and manage cost and schedule to budgetOversee installation and startup of projects, while ensuring safety of project workers,



contractors and staffEnsure regulatory compliance of all new installationsDevelop comprehensive project documentation for handover to operations and maintenance.Technical SupportProvide technical support to Maintenance personnel to correct and resolve problems affecting the reliability, productivity and safety of equipment.Provide engineering technical support for other Engineers' capital projects, and for Maintenance and Operations projects.Training and ReportingProvide training on the use of new equipment to employees and write monthly progress reports for projects under your management.Safety and ComplianceKnow and follow safe work procedures including Lock-Out and Confined Space Entry and communicate to your supervisor the hazards and risks present in your workplace.What You Will Bring...Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineeringMember in good standing of Engineers and Geoscientists BC5-10 years of experience, in an industrial environment is an assetGood knowledge of manufacturing processes and knowledge of papermaking equipment such as paper machines, steam boilers, pumping system, etc. is an assetKnowledge of AutoCAD and MS Project softwareWhat's In It For You...At Kruger Products, we see greatness in everyone and what they bring to the organization.
