About the Opportunity

Full-Cycle Accounting:

- Manage the full accounting cycle including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll support, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, deferrals, allocations, and adjustments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accordance with applicable accounting standards for NPOs.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, funding agreements, and regulatory requirements.

Accounts Payable Oversight:
- Oversee and support the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice coding, approvals, payment processing, and vendor management.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of payments.
- Strengthen and maintain internal controls related to disbursements.
- Monitor cash flow related to payables and vendor commitments.

Month-End & Financial Reporting:
- Lead the monthly close process, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.
- Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations, including bank accounts, prepaid expenses, accruals, and other key accounts.
- Analyze variances and provide insights to leadership.
- Support budget tracking and financial forecasting.

Reconciliations & Controls:
- Perform and review general ledger reconciliations on a regular basis.
- Ensure accuracy of restricted funds and program-related reporting.
- Identify process improvements and enhance financial controls.
- Assist in developing and maintaining financial policies and procedures.

About You Qualifications & Experience:





- CPA designation (or working toward completion) preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a non-profit or public sector environment.
- Solid knowledge of full-cycle accounting and financial reporting.
- Experience managing or overseeing accounts payable processes.
- Familiarity with fund accounting and restricted funding is an asset.
- Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
