Duties
Operate snow plow trucks and related machinery to explicit snow and ice from designated areas such as roads, parking lots, sidewalks, and driveways
Perform routine inspections of plow equipment to ensure optimal functioning and safety standards are met
Apply salt or other de-icing materials to prevent ice buildup and enhance safety
Conduct pre- and post-operation checks on machinery, including hydraulic systems, blades, and power tools used for snow removal
Maintain detailed logs of work completed, including areas cleared and materials used
Communicate effectively with team members regarding weather conditions, equipment status, and operational needs
Experience
Proven experience operating snow plowing equipment or similar machinery such as excavators or power tools in outdoor environments
Mechanical knowledge related to maintenance and troubleshooting of heavy equipment and hand tools
Background in landscaping, horticulture, or construction is highly desirable
Familiarity with landscape maintenance practices including tree care, lawn mowing, irrigation systems, gardening, and hardscape installation
Ability to perform physical tasks outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods
Strong attention to safety protocols when handling machinery and chemicals like salt or de-icing agents
