Position DescriptionCGI is seeking a Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer Specialist to support enterprise data modernization initiatives across public sector and commercial clients. In this role, you will design and implement modern data engineering platforms using Microsoft Fabric, supporting organizations transitioning from traditional Microsoft data platforms to scalable cloud-based analytics architectures. The successful candidate will have strong hands‑on data engineering experience, consulting delivery experience, and the ability to work directly with client stakeholders to deliver production‑grade data platforms. This role is ideal for a senior data engineer with experience modernizing legacy Microsoft data environments such as SQL Server and SSIS into modern Lakehouse architectures.Your future duties and responsibilitiesData Engineering & Platform DevelopmentDesign and implement enterprise data platforms using Microsoft FabricDevelop Lakehouse architectures using One Lake, Delta tables, and SparkBuild scalable data ingestion and transformation pipelines using Fabric Data FactoryImplement data transformations using PySpark and SQLDesign medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) for enterprise analytics environmentsOptimize pipelines for performance, scalability, and cost efficiencyData Platform ModernizationSupport migration of legacy data environments to Microsoft FabricModernize ETL pipelines currently built on SQL Server and SSISIntegrate data from enterprise systems, APIs, and relational databasesSupport hybrid architecture integrating on‑premise and cloud data environments.Client Engagement & DeliveryWork directly with client stakeholders, architects,

The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training,
and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $65,000.00–$125,000.00.
