By working at The Care Company, you will be part of a growing organization that is helping individuals and families thrive at home.Key ResponsibilitiesImplement prescribed treatment plans under the direction and supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist and/or PhysiotherapistSupport clients with exercises, mobility training, strengthening programs, gait training, balance retraining, and functional mobility tasks, as well as other prescribed activitiesReinforce home exercise programs and ensure clients perform exercises safely and correctlyMonitor and document client progress, observations, and responses to treatment (with OT/PT review and oversight)Assist with transfer training, safe lifting techniques, and mobility aid usageProvide caregiver education and support for OT/PT‑directed care strategiesAssist with basic equipment set‑up, environmental safety recommendations, and home visit follow‑up tasksMaintain appropriate communication with supervising OT/PT, office staff,
and interdisciplinary team membersTravel to client homes across the GTA and maintain flexibility as caseload changesRequirementsMUST have a valid driver’s license and reliable access to a car that can be used for daily workAbility to travel between assignments within designated areas of work; an asset if you can travel to rural/remote areasMust be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in EnglishPSW certification from an approved and recognized educational institution or international nursing/doctored certificationNegative TB test completed within the last yearValid CPR/First Aid certificateValid WHMIS2015 certificate of completionCOVID‑vaccination receipts subject to an exemption pursuant to Ontario's Human Rights CodeImmunization for measles, rubella, varicella, tetanus, and diphtheria required; hepatitis B immunization strongly urgedValid criminal record check completed within the last yearAbility to identify and report client care concerns to Care Coordinators when neededRequires good judgement, ability to work independently, and ability to work cooperatively with an interdisciplinary teamCurrent/valid Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) registration is an assetScheduling RequirementsPart‑time availability schedule: Monday‑Friday, with occasional Saturday or Sunday availability as needed. Clients are located across Central Ontario Region (Simcoe, Alliston, Beeton, Newmarket, Aurora, Maple, Markham, Keswick, Geogina). Ability to independently manage scheduling, respond promptly to referrals,
and coordinate visit times directly with clients.
