The cook/housekeeper also handles general cleaning, maintenance, and housekeeping, and performs administrative tasks such as daily logs and records. Supports the organization’s vision, mission, and guiding values. This is a fully in‑centre position.Job ResponsibilitiesCreates and maintains a safe and healthy workplace in compliance with all internal and external guidelines, policies and procedures.Plans, prepares and delivers wholesome and nutritious foods according to set standards and regulations, following a set menu while adhering to allergy/dietary restrictions of children.Responsible for ordering, purchasing, receiving and unpacking of food and supplies while respecting set budgets; shopping at localstores may be required.Maintains centre inventory, ensures freshness and minimizes waste.Applies knowledge of public health requirements relating to food preparation, storage,



dishwashing and general cleaning/disinfecting practices.Loads and unloads centre dishwasher; hand‑washes dishes and supplies as needed.Operates laundry machines; folds and maintains laundry as needed.Records temperatures (food) and completes checklists/logs as required; keeps all kitchenand housekeeping records up‑to‑date.Keeps team and supervisor apprised of compliance issues or problems related to outside regulations and internal policy.Qualifications & RequirementsMinimum of one (1) year experience in food preparation and serving.Prior experience working with children is an asset.At least 18 years of age or older due to licensing requirements.Health assessment and record of immunization, as outlined by legislation.Up‑to‑date certification in CPR‑C and Standard First Aid.Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.Ability to operate standard kitchen appliances and laundry equipment.Knowledge of Canada’s food guide.Proven ability to communicate (written and verbal) effectively and establish appropriate relationships with families, coworkers, and other professionals.Physical stamina and ability to kneel, bend, lift and stand for extended periods.Moderate level of physical effort regularly required; including but notlimited to kneeling, pushing, pulling, bending, carrying and reaching.Email your resume to [email protected] you for your interest; only applicants who maybe interviewed will be contacted.Upper Canada Child Care is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace and encourages applications from members of our diverse communities.
