Program Worker – Food Services30 hours per week.The current rate of pay is $28.29 per hour plus 16.3% in lieu of benefits. Locations are determined by the Food Services Coordinator and are subject to change. The initial location is anticipated to be at Queneesh Elementary.QualificationsGrade 12 education and valid Food Safe Level 2 certification.Knowledge of nutrition, health and safety standards relative to food service sanitation.Minimum of one year current work experience in food services.Experience using basic computer programs to support menu planning, communication, and administrative tasks.Experience working effectively with students, staff and parents, and ability to liaise with suppliers.Valid Class 5 B.C. driver's license and personal vehicle available to use on the job.Meets the physical requirements of the position.Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Duties / ResponsibilitiesDuties are performed under the supervision of the school Principal or Vice Principal and include: completing program-related administrative tasks such as menu planning, documentation, and communication with parents and caregivers according to established procedures; establishing and maintaining effective relationships with students to inspire, educate,
and empower them to eat a wide-ranging diet by encouraging participation in the kitchen and garden; facilitating the SchoolFood Program and activities; ensuring appropriate inventory levels of food and supplies, ordering and arranging delivery of necessary items from suppliers as required, shopping in-person at local retailers, and supporting B.C. food production where possible; following proper healthand safety standards relative to food service sanitation, handling and storing of food supplies; providing leadership and orientation to ensure parent volunteers and/or student helpers abide by the same standards; providing suggestions to improve the cost effectiveness of the food services program; maintaining appropriaterecords and ensuring confidentiality of student information; following proper work procedures, observing all regulations pertinent to the work, maintaining a good working relationship with other employees, and cooperating in maintaining a healthy learning and working environment; performing other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor; and supervising students as required by the Principal or Vice Principal.An Equal Opportunity Employer#J-18808-Ljbffr
