All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadians and permanent residents will be given priority.Competition DetailsPosition Number:P00007Position Title:Vocational Instructor - Accessible Education & TrainingDivision/Portfolio:Arts and Sciences Department/Program Accessible Education & TrainingLocation:KelownaEmployment Type:Vocational - Non-Regular Part-TimeDesired Start Date:09/08/2026Position End Date:05/02/2027ResponsibilitiesThe duties and responsibilities of a Vocational Instructor include instructional and professional duties, professional development and service, and continuing excellence in one’s field.Instructional duties:teaching assignments; course and program preparation and revision; student contact; student advising; evaluation and marking of student work and other functions related to instruction.Professional duties:curriculum development; student registration and pre-registration duties.Professional development:activity intended to promote teaching excellence, subject area competence and technical competence in the area of professional or instructional expertise.Service:school visitations; participation on OC committees; attendance at articulation meetings; representing OC at other functions; administrative and other duties.Education and ExperienceA Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.A valid BC Teacher’s Certificate appropriate to the instructional assignment, equivalent or a Provincial Instructor Diploma is preferred, and will be required following appointment in accordance with the Collective Agreement.Two years of related teaching experience, preferably in an adult setting.Two years of experience working with people with diverse abilities.Skills and AbilitiesCandidates must be committed to a team approach,



demonstrate valuable written and oral English skills, have excellent interpersonal skills, and possess an exceptional teaching record with a demonstrated learner-centered teaching philosophy. Successful applicants will be an integral part of the team that will help Okanagan College realize the promise of a world-class college. Candidates should be comfortable in a computerized environment and demonstrate knowledge of programs relevant to their discipline.
