Reporting to the group lead, the position will be responsible for coordinating and inspecting of onsite construction projects.ResponsibilitiesProvide inspection and oversight of complex bridge,
roadway and highway construction projectsMaintain accurate daily diary entries and completion of contract documentation recordsMaintain daily photographic records, and videos as necessary to document contract activitiesComplete site surveys of completed works for tracking item and material quantities for paymentUtilize Construction/Contract Management System (CMS) on MTO and municipal construction contractsComplete daily inspections in accordance to client requirementsMonitoring construction work is in accordance to contract documents and specificationsMonitoring the contractor’s compliance to health and safety, and environmental regulations and legislationSupervise and implement quality assurance acceptance and inspection of construction worksReport to the Project Manager and Contract Administrator onsite activities, concerns, and non-conformances, and provide recommendations for resolutionReview and document implementation of traffic closures in accordance to contract documentsLiaise with client representatives, as requiredRequires working nights, weekends, and extended shiftsWork may be seasonal in nature, as work permitsOther duties as assigned.Preferred QualificationsPost‑secondary degree/diploma in Civil Engineering and/or relevant experienceCertified OACETT as a Road Construction Senior Inspector (rcsi) designation, and/or registered with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) with relevant experienceA Minimum 3 years experience with engineering or constructionPrevious experience working on municipal or MTO roadway and highway projectsAble to work weekends, nights, and extended shifts as neededAbility to work in a team environment and independentlyExcellent communication and problem solving skillsValid Ontario driver’s license with an acceptable driving record, and access to a reliable vehicle.Required QualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalentExperience in MS Office (Word, Excel,
