The U.S. has imposed duties and tariffs on Canadian softwood lumber imports, and West Fraser is required to participate in annual reviews of the data used to determine these rates. The Trade Compliance team is responsible for responding to U.S. Department of Commerce questionnaires and collaborating with external legal counsel to analyze large volumes of financial and operational data required for the responses.In this role, your primary responsibility will be to lead the anti‑dumping duty component of the softwood lumber investigation. This includes:Analyzing both financial and non‑financial dataCoordinating data and information requests across multiple internal teamsEnsuring accuracy and consistency of submissions to external legal counselSupporting the development of risk assessments and mitigation strategiesThis high‑profile position provides a company‑wide perspective, giving you exposure to our global operations, legal structure, and finance and business practices.



You will work closely with senior leaders—including C‑Suite executives—team members across various sites, and external stakeholders. Success in this role requires the ability to tailor messages to different audiences, navigate complex information, and influence outcomes without direct authority. Experience gained in the Trade File role develops transferable skills that prepare individuals for broader responsibilities within the finance organization.You’ll DoLeading the anti‑dumping section of the softwood lumber investigation, including gathering, summarizing, and presenting data, as well as being the point of contact with external legal counsel and other 3rd party expertsPreparation and reconciliation of other key data related to the anti‑dumping investigationPreparing quarterly and year‑end financial statement disclosures related to export duties and tariffsProviding strategic ideas and future development for financial improvement for business processes and systemsDeveloping a detailed understanding of the anti‑dumping duty legal process and recommending defensive strategies to managementLeading presentations on risk mitigation and other topics to managementAssist with the countervailing duty section of the U.S. Trade FileYou haveCanadian CPA designation (foreign equivalents may be considered)3+ years audit experience at a Big 4 public practice firm,
