The Royal Ontario Museum is seeking a Curator for Insects & Arachnids to lead a world-class entomological collection while advancing research and public scholarship. Inspire audiences by connecting them to nature. This exciting role involves managing ROM’s prestigious collection of over 10 million specimens.
As Curator, you will engage in collections stewardship, drive research initiatives, and collaborate on cutting-edge public programming. Work with the Department of Natural History to mentor emerging scientists and increase public relevance in the field of entomology. Key Responsibilities:
Direct stewardship of the insect and arachnid collection
Lead research projects and publish significant findings
Develop engaging exhibitions and educational content
Foster interdisciplinary collaboration across departments
Mentor students and volunteers in research Requirements:
PhD in relevant biological or ecological fields
Experience in collections management
Robust interpersonal and communication capabilities
Research publication history with external funding potential
A commitment to inclusivity and community engagement Drive impactful research and community engagement at ROM, enhancing public understanding of biodiversity.
