In this pivotal role, you will own the entire development journey from translating market insights into creative concepts and overseeing design development to managing supplier collaborations and driving successful product launches. You will work at the intersection of design, engineering, sourcing, sales, marketing and business strategy. The position is fast‑paced, requires discipline to maintain quality standards while meeting aggressive timelines, and reports to the Senior Director, Design & Engineering.ResponsibilitiesConduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer collaboration to understand industry trends, market structures and market gapsIdentify market white space and present compelling new product ideas to leadershipDesign & DevelopmentModel refined product concepts using 3D CAD and rendering toolsLead product design and development from concept through production — owning every milestoneFacilitate new product development meetings and cross‑functional team sessionsCollaborate with Regulatory and Testing Team to develop test plans and product certificationsWork closely with Design Engineers for detailed design and development of product specifications and documentation for manufacturingPartner with Sourcing Team to identify and qualify current manufacturersLead NPD initiatives with factory partners, setting clear direction and holding timelinesCoordinate sample production and manage iterative development cycles with suppliersCollaborate with packaging engineers to optimize packaging performance and reduce costPartner with technical illustrators to develop product packaging and installation manualsEquip the Sales team with product knowledge, tools, and collateral for current product launchesDevelop and own project timelines; keep cross‑functional stakeholders aligned and accountableManage product‑level profitability — cost targets are your responsibility, not a finance exerciseAI & Productivity ToolsLeverage AI tools (e.G. Claude, ChatGPT) to accelerate market research, competitive analysis, and documentationUse AI‑assisted rendering and ideation tools to speed up concept development and design iterationContribute to building AI‑integrated workflows across the product development teamTravel RequirementsAvailable for international travel 3–4 times per year, trips of 1–2 weeks each (primarily Asia)QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred7+ years of product development experience in consumer goods or related industryProficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Onshape)
