With more than a century of experience and a full suite of integrated services, Aecon is a trusted partner for delivering complex civil projects, including tunnels, transit expansions, airports, ports, highways, and large‑scale site development.Reporting to the Sr. Procurement Manager, the Sr. Procurement Specialist will be responsible for all purchasing related activities and for ensuring the delivery of materials and services to the site occurs on time, at the right price the first time. The role also involves ensuring timely receipt of goods in SAP, tracking deliveries and return of rental equipment, and maintaining data integrity across the company’s database systems.ResponsibilitiesUnderstand how purchasing can enhance the enterprise, supply chain, and competitive strategy.Develop detailed plans to optimize the delivery of equipment, materials, supplies, and services for quality, cost, and schedule.Analyze variables that drive cost and develop strategies to eliminate waste.Prepare and issue RFX documents to qualified vendors (request for quotes, information, proposals, etc.).Negotiate or aid negotiation of best price, delivery terms, payment terms, tax exemptions, price escalation, and other factors impacting total cost.Collaborate with Operations personnel and regional offices to obtain required materials.Support estimating team with pricing at the tendering stage.Manage logistics,



including expediting critical site deliveries.Analyze internal third‑party agreements.Manage the lifecycle of purchase order activity.Participate in supplier evaluation across all pertinent performance vectors.Apply problem‑solving methodology to drive issues to root cause and appropriate corrective action.Adhere to all Aecon policies, particularly procurement and safety policies.Maintain data integrity when inputting records into the company’s database systems.Provide reporting and analysis on procurement activities, variances, and impacts.Facilitate implementation of business‑specific contracts for services and/or materials.Qualifications5+ years’ experience within a purchasing department.Knowledge of purchasing principles, techniques, practices, and ethics.Foundational knowledge of contract law, negotiation, and tendering processes.Proven organizational skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.Service‑oriented mindset and ability to work effectively within a team.Strong negotiation and communication skills, both oral and written.Research skills and commitment to continual learning about new products.Attention to detail, mathematical, and analytical skills.Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).On‑site presence 4–5 days per week.Compensation & BenefitsPay Range: $60,000 – $90,000 (determined by location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions).Full benefits package (described separately in the employee handbook).EEO & Accessibility StatementAecon fosters diversity, inclusion, and belonging within and across our organization.
