Monarch Aeromarine Atelier is a marine preservation company. We are hiring a polisher who can carry out gelcoat restoration to a high standard, working in a two-person crew.
THE STANDARD
You must be able to complete a full two-step correction — compound and polish — on an average hull in a single working day, as one half of a two-person team. Prepared, clean, consistent pace, finished to a level that does not need to be revisited.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assess gelcoat condition before work — oxidation, chalking, thickness concerns, previous repairs, areas that must not be machined
Pre-wash, waterline and stain removal, decontamination
Mask stainless, rub rails, decals, canvas, non-skid and fittings
Heavy oxidation removal with wool and foam pads, rotary and DA
Two-step and three-step correction: compound, polish, refine
Wet sanding where required,
followed by full refinement
Work edges, strakes, corners and lettering without burning through
Apply wax, sealant, ceramic or graphene coating as directed
Inspect panel by panel under work light before moving on
Load and unload the mobile rig; work safely from ladders and staging
Control slurry and overspray — no residue left on neighbouring vessels or marina property
Full site cleanup, and daily cleaning of pads, machines and equipment
