Metalex is looking for a certified Journeyman Ironworker (Metal Building Systems Erector) to join our field crews based across Alberta.This role is primarily focused on rigid frame, pre-engineered steel structures—the most technically demanding work in our portfolio. You’ll also lead and participate in crews assembling self-framing buildings, foam panel systems, and other building types as projects require.You’re expected to execute independently, hold the safety and quality standard in office, and bring a level of precision and ownership that sets the tone for the crew.What You’ll Do- Lead the field execution of rigid frame, pre-engineered steel structures from layout through final inspection—working from engineered drawings and erection manuals without supervision- Participate in and lead crews on self-framing buildings, foam panel systems, and other metal building solutions- Rig and hoist structural steel components; operate man lifts, boomlifts, and mobile elevated work platforms safely and competently- Read and interpret complex erection drawings, anchor bolt plans, and structural specifications- Maintain a zero-compromise standard on site safety: PPE, hazard identification, tailgate meetings, and stop-work authority- Serve as an on-site resource and mentor for Helpers and less experienced crew members- Interact professionally with clients, site supervisors, and general contractors; represent Metalexwith confidence- Complete all required site documentation: inspection records, daily logs,
