HR Generalist
Location: Mississauga, ON
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: $66,000–$70,000 CAD
Position Status: Existing Vacancy
Work Arrangement: Full-time, in-office
Travel: Monthly travel to supported facilities in Mississauga, Brampton, and Brantford
Job Overview
Our client is a leading contract packaging organization specializing in the packaging of dry foods, chocolate, confectionery, and snack products. With multiple facilities across the West GTA, our client combines extensive industry experience with both manual processes and automated equipment to provide high-quality packaging solutions for well-known brands.
Our client is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support its facilities in Mississauga, Brampton, and Brantford. Based at the Mississauga location, this position will serve as a key HR contact while supporting a broad range of human resources functions.
This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys working across multiple areas of HR, collaborating with employees and managers, and taking ownership of day-to-day HR activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary HR contact for assigned facilities and escalate concerns when appropriate.
- Respond to internal and external HR inquiries and provide timely support.
- Manage and support the full recruitment cycle, including job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, interview coordination, employment contracts, background checks, and reference checks.
- Coordinate the onboarding process and ensure all new hire documentation is completed accurately.
- Communicate new hire information to Payroll and ensure required training is completed.
- Monitor and coordinate 45-day and 90-day employee performance reviews.
- Coordinate training sessions and maintain accurate training records and matrices.
- Assist with Health & Safety initiatives and related activities.
- Support employee benefits administration and ensure benefit deductions are properly entered into payroll.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Support HR-related employee investigations when required.
- Provide guidance to Supervisors and Managers regarding disciplinary documentation and related HR matters.
- Prepare employment and employee-requested letters.
- Work closely with Managers to ensure timely updates regarding leaves of absence and wage increases.
- Maintain accurate employee records, including payroll information, personal data, leaves, turnover, and other personnel-related information.
- Assist with Time and Attendance activities as required.
- Coordinate HR meetings, events, and related activities.
- Prepare and submit HR reports and workforce-related data.
- Assist with special HR projects and other duties assigned by the Director.
- Utilize Dayforce to improve HR processes, increase efficiency, and generate reports for Managers.
- Follow all company health and safety policies and comply with applicable Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
- Provide additional HR support as required.
Education & Experience
- HR certificate, diploma, or degree.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar HR Generalist role.
- Experience with Dayforce is preferred.
- Experience within the food, manufacturing, packaging, or a similar industry is considered an asset.
- CHRP designation is preferred.

- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee information with discretion.
- Self-motivated and capable of working effectively under pressure.
- Solid reporting and data-management skills.
- Ability to travel between supported facilities as required.
