You Will

1. Workplace Injury Claims & Safety

- Manage workplace injury claims, ensuring incident reports and supporting documentation are accurate and submitted on time.
- Coordinate with stores, departments, and external claim consultants to monitor claim progress and support return-to-work programs.
- Review claim decisions, monitor claim costs and durations, and assist with appeals when appropriate.
- Analyze injury trends and promote injury prevention initiatives across the business.

2. Health & Safety Programs

- Participate in Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) activities and coordinate workplace safety inspections with HR Advisors.
- Develop and deliver health and safety training, including injury reporting, incident investigation, return-to-work procedures, and workplace injury prevention.
- Coordinate annual training for JHSC members and First Aid Attendants.
- Assist business units during WorkSafeBC and WCB-Alberta inspections and support follow-up on regulatory requirements.

3. Compliance & Reporting

- Review and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure compliance with applicable legislation.
- Prepare monthly workplace injury and safety reports for business units and management.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality of employee information.

4. HR Support

- Support day-to-day HR operations and departmental initiatives.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

You Should Have / Be

- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.




- Minimum 3 years of experience in workplace injury claim management, occupational health and safety, or Human Resources.
- Working knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation (e.g., WorkSafeBC, Alberta OHS), workplace injury claims, and incident investigation.
- Experience coordinating workplace safety programs, training, or Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) activities is an asset.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a rapid-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese) is an asset.
