Family Centre invites applications for a permanent part-time (17.5 hours per week) to fill the role of Indigenous Program Facilitator.

Family Centre is a community-based, registered charity that provides families in Lethbridge and Southwestern Alberta with caring and respectful family support. This is done through a comprehensive range of prevention and early intervention services for children, youth, adults, parents and other family members. Family Centre is recognized as a Government of Alberta Family Resource Network Hub.

All My Relations is a Spoke service of the Indigenous Family Resource Network. It provides group-based programming for caregivers and youth rooted in Blackfoot culture. Programs are strength based, focused on sacred teachings and foster healthy relationships in families.

This position provides extended case management in the form of one-to-one support for Indigenous families to help navigate parenting challenges, other support systems and resources. As part of Family Centre, the position supports other programs, events and initiatives.





The successful applicant will be responsible for program promotion and recruitment, program facilitation, and supporting group members. This position typically works 1 evening shift a week (4-8:30 pm), and adaptable day shifts as per programming needs.

Qualifications/Requirements

· A Diploma or Degree in Human Services related field or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience

· Experience working with Indigenous families and Elders

· Knowledge and experience with Blackfoot culture

· Group facilitation experience

· Working knowledge of child development, parenting and family dynamics

· Working knowledge of and ability to network with community agencies

· Computer skills and literacy

· Current First Aid Certificate (within the past 3 years), Alberta Children’s Services Intervention Record Check (within the past 6 months), Police Record Check incl. vulnerable sector (within the past 6 months)

Pay: $21.98 per hour
