Our mission is to maintain a best-in-class portfolio that consistently delivers excellence in care and services while ensuring economic sustainability.Reports to:Environmental Service ManagerThe Janitor provides essential support to the residence by maintaining a clean and sanitary setting, ensuring that residents live in a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained space.Key ResponsibilitiesFollow the home’s Preventive Maintenance Program as well as the Demand Maintenance ProgramRegularly perform the various tasks described in the programsRegularly checking completed maintenance logs in each department/home area of the homeComplete repairs as necessary including not limited to: Painting, wall repair, small leak, install (toilet, sink, tiling, doors, replace light fixtures,



install blinds)Check the operation of the mechanical equipmentInspect Life Safety equipment and systemsEnsure safe storage of maintenance equipmentComplete regular maintenance reportsComplete pre-start up assessments on a new equipment as applicableCoordinate annual preventive maintenance checks by contractors; andPerform other duties as requiredMust be available for call ins on short noticePerform everything pertaining to maintenance including heavy duty related workKnowledge and Skills RequiredMust have mechanical aptitude and be able to read and write the English language.Experience in electrical, plumbing, patchwork, painting preferredAbility to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures.Knowledgeable about WHMIS, OH & SHigh School DiplomaCollege level trade certificate is an assetAdditional RequirementsA negative vulnerable sector check completed within 6 months of start date.Completion of a 2 Step TB Skin test within the last 12 months of start date.Southbridge Care Homes welcomes those applicants with disability related needs and those who have a need for accommodation in the recruitment process.
