The Intelligent Firewall Operations Analyst is responsible for the continuous operation, optimization, and security management of enterprise firewall environments across multiple vendor platforms. This role focuses on real-time threat intelligence integration, proactive vulnerability management, firewall policy optimization, log monitoring, incident investigation, and lifecycle management to help transform firewalls from static enforcement devices into adaptive, threat‑aware security assets.Salary:$80,000 to $100,000 per yearKey ResponsibilitiesMonitor firewall events and platform health on a 24x7 basis and respond to incidents in line with defined SLAs.Investigate firewall alerts using full operational context and integrated threat intelligence to support rapid containment actions.Execute or support pre‑approved containment playbooks, including automatic blocking of malicious IPs, domains, and URLs.Perform continuous policy optimization activities, including rule hygiene reviews, identification of unused or overly permissive rules, conflict detection, and policy improvement recommendations.Conduct proactive firewall vulnerability management, including CVE identification, remediation planning, and coordination of firmware, OS, and signature updates.Manage centralized log collection, normalization, retention, and search capabilities to support investigations, reporting, and compliance requirements.Support compliance and governance objectives aligned to frameworks such as PCI DSS, NIST, ISO 27001, and PIPEDA.Track hardware lifecycle and end‑of‑life status and contribute to refresh and maintenance planning.Work across multi‑vendor firewall platforms including Palo Alto, Cisco,



Fortinet, Check Point, and WatchGuard.Produce operational, compliance, and executive‑level reporting, including AI‑assisted security reports where applicable.Participate in onboarding and steady‑state service activities, including firewall assessment, log integration, policy baseline reviews, threat intelligence activation, and service improvement initiatives.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.Experience supporting enterprise firewall operations in a SOC, MSSP, or network security environment.Hands‑on familiarity with one or more major firewall platforms such as Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco, Check Point, or WatchGuard.Knowledge of firewall policy management, threat detection, rule review, vulnerability remediation, and incident response processes.Experience with log analysis, reporting, and security monitoring workflows.Understanding of security and compliance frameworks such as PCI DSS, NIST, ISO 27001, and PIPEDA.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.Ability to work in a rapid‑paced, operations‑focused environment with strong attention to detail.Preferred QualificationsExperience in managed security services or large‑scale enterprise security operations.Knowledge of automated response playbooks and threat intelligence‑driven operations.Experience supporting AI‑assisted or automation‑enabled security workflows.Relevant certifications such as NSE, PCNSE, CCNP Security, CCIE Security, CISSP, or equivalent.Core CompetenciesFirewall operations and lifecycle management#J-18808-Ljbffr
