Our state‑of‑the‑art biofouling control systems include monitoring, maintenance and prevention programs that minimize the risk and cost of unscheduled downtime. Treatment of water systems is effective, safe and economic.Field Techniciansfor the Biofouling Services Group to support the busy season ahead.These contract positions will start full‑time as of May 18th and end on October 30th, 2026and involve environmental sampling, analysis, and field equipment maintenance atremote locations in Northern Manitoba.Dates are tentative and subject to change. Special arrangements for the start date and training may be possible for those graduating this spring. Fixed‑term contract position may lead to a permanent position with benefits.Training & DeploymentSuccessful candidates will undergotraining in Sarniafor approximately 3-4 weeks before deployment (anticipated at the end of May) to Gillam, Grand Rapids, Jenpeg, Kelsey and/or Thompson, MB.Once deployed, technicians will stay in a camp setting for the entire duration of the project (except for the initial training period in Sarnia).Meals and accommodations will be fully provided while in Manitoba and any other work locations outside of Sarnia.Job Type / CategoryThe ideal candidate is someone who can adapt to a challenging remote work environment and deliver accurate results to uphold strong client satisfaction. All new hires will participate in an extensive ASI Group Ltd. specific training program to ensure a safe work environment and operational efficiency.Work Schedule & Compensation$25.00/hrstarting wage$15/hr premiumfor all work performedabove the 55th parallelShifts:8 hours per day (could be up to 12 hours based on operational needs)Work will be scheduled up to 6 days per week,
with one guaranteed day off.Overtime paid in accordance with Employment StandardsDue to the remote nature of the project, travel to and from camp may take multiple days.Time off during the season will only be granted for extenuating circumstances.Field Technicians will:Represent the company projecting a professional imageProvide regular communication with Supervisor or Project Manager on assigned projectsFollow all safety legislation and site safety standardsLoad, secure and safely transport equipmentCollect samples, analyze and report results within a deadlineReceive, transfer and transport chemicals (certified under TDG)Perform basic equipment adjustments, repairs, conduct routine monitoring, maintenance and fabricationOperate tools and machineryTroubleshoot processes and equipmentMaintain a secure, organized and clean work environmentRequired Education, Skills and QualificationsCollege diploma or certificate from a relevant program such as Instrumentation and Control; Environmental Technician; Biology or Water and Wastewater OperationsMinimum of one year of related work experience considered an assetFamiliarity with working in industrial and/or laboratory settings considered an assetCapable of performing mathematical calculations and understanding data to modify instrumentation equipment accordinglyAble to perform duties independently and work closely with other team members for long periods of timeAbility to set priorities and consistently meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environmentAttention to detail is critical, along with the ability to record accurate readingsAptitude for learning current skills quickly and implementing them in different environmentsExceptional troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills,
along with strong decision‑making abilitiesMust possess and maintain a valid driver’s license (Class G2 minimum); successful applicants will be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract from the MTOMust be comfortable driving a pick‑up truck with trailerMust hold a valid passport or equivalentMechanical and electrical experience is an assetOperator in Training (OIT) qualified (Drinking Water or Wastewater) considered an assetCompetency in a Windows environment, including Excel, Outlook and WordStrong verbal and written communication skillsAble to travel within Canada as neededMust be available for all shifts, which will include weekends and holidaysSchedules will vary from week to week based upon operational requirementsDemonstrates flexibility in work schedule to meet client requirementsStrong interpersonal skills and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer serviceAbility to lift 50 lbs and work in physically demanding environmentsA security clearance is a condition of ongoing employment for this position.
