Overview

We are seeking a motivated Junior-Intermediate Electrical and Controls Engineer to join our dynamic team. We are looking for engineering graduates with 0-5 years of experience who will be able to assist project managers and senior engineers with day-to-day assignments. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to multidisciplinary engineering projects, focusing on electrical system design, control integration, and system optimization for water infrastructure projects.

The job responsibilities of this position include the following:

- Plan, assess, and design electrical, instrumentation, control, and SCADA systems at water and wastewater infrastructure facilities
- Design of electrical systems including power distribution systems, switchgear, transformers, Motor Control Centres (MCC), VFDs, control schematics, lighting, fire alarm, and security systems.
- Design of control systems including instrumentation, relay control panels, PLC panels, and SCADA networks
- Develop process control narratives and operations manuals for the water and wastewater facilities
- Prepare engineering drawings using computer drafting software, e.g. Auto CAD
- Collect, assimilate, and manage data for engineering and administrative work
- Project coordination with other internal/external team members
- Recognize, define and resolve problems within assigned area
- Prepare various technical and administrative documents




- Assist contract administrators with shop drawing review, RFI responses, operations manual preparations, and commissioning planning, etc.
- Perform site inspection for construction contracts to ensure compliance with design specifications and drawings, codes, safety regulations, oversee the progress and quality of construction work, provide detailed site reports, coordinate and work with design team to resolve construction issues, and coordinate with stakeholders to facilitate testing and commissioning.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

- Self-motivated problem solver, with attention to details
- University or college graduate with engineering background, preferably in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Chemical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering. Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with PEO.
- Experience with electrical systems
- Experience with PLC/HMI programming
- Experience in industrial network: Ethernet, Modbus, Profibus, etc.
- Understanding and knowledge of water and wastewater treatment
- Must have logical thinking and strong technical writing skills
- A desire to work under pressure in an engineering firm
- Ability of informing, listening, and dealing with ambiguity
- Knowledge of engineering principles and standards related to assigned engineering discipline
- Must be proficient with drafting software Auto CAD
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of MS Office and MS Project
