Role: Telecom Administrator

Location: Hybrid (3 days per week onsite: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday)

Role Summary The Telecom Administrator (L3) will serve as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Cisco Unified Communications and Collaboration solutions, leading large-scale Avaya-to-Cisco migration, modernization, optimization, and transformation initiatives. This role requires deep expertise in Cisco voice technologies, telecom architecture, and enterprise telephony services.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field.

8+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting Cisco Unified Communications solutions.

Expert-level experience with:

Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM)

Cisco Unity Connection

Cisco CUBE

Cisco Voice Gateways

Cisco UCCX

Webex Calling

Proven experience leading large-scale Avaya-to-Cisco migration and modernization projects.

Solid expertise in

Cisco voice architecture

Dial plans

SIP integrations

Call routing

PSTN connectivity

Advanced knowledge of

SIP

VoIP

QoS

TCP/IP

WAN

Session Border Controllers (SBCs)

Voice network design

Hands-on experience with:

Avaya Aura

Avaya Communication Manager

Avaya Session Manager

Experience leading voice optimization, consolidation, technology refresh, and transformation initiatives.

Strong understanding of high availability, disaster recovery, and resilient voice architectures.

Experience mentoring L1/L2 teams and leading technical escalations.

Cisco CCNP Collaboration or CCIE Collaboration preferred.

Excellent stakeholder management, technical leadership, and communication skills.





Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary SME for Cisco Unified Communications and Collaboration solutions.

Lead end-to-end Avaya-to-Cisco migration, upgrade, consolidation, and optimization projects.

Design scalable, secure, and highly available Cisco voice architectures and solutions.

Perform architecture reviews, health assessments, and voice infrastructure optimization initiatives.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex L3 incidents involving Cisco voice platforms and SIP integrations.

Define migration strategies, cutover plans, rollback procedures, and implementation roadmaps.

Manage CUCM clusters, CUBE environments, gateways, dial plans, and enterprise telephony services.

Collaborate with telecom carriers, vendors, and project teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Provide technical governance, standards, and best practices for voice infrastructure.

Mentor L1/L2 engineers and support major incident and problem management activities.

Develop and maintain telecom architecture, operational, and migration documentation.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance voice service availability, performance, and user experience.
