Alchemy Irrigation & Landscaping is looking for an experienced Landscape Construction Lead Hand to join our team building high-end, custom outdoor spaces throughout the Okanagan.

This position sits between our Landscape Labourer and Foreman roles. We’re looking for someone with strong hands-on landscape construction experience who can be trusted to take ownership of their work, execute projects efficiently, help guide other crew members, and keep things moving without needing constant direction.

You don’t need to be a seasoned foreman, but you should be someone a foreman can rely on.

The right person notices what needs to happen next, understands how a landscape project comes together, solves problems instead of creating them, and takes pride in doing things properly the first time.

You’ll work alongside our foremen and crews constructing premium residential landscapes including hardscapes, retaining walls, stairs, excavation, irrigation, water and fire features, lighting, structures and complete landscape installations.

For someone with the right attitude, skillset and leadership potential, this role also offers a clear path toward becoming a Landscape Construction Foreman.

Our service area includes Lake Country to Peachland, with the majority of our work in Kelowna and West Kelowna.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform skilled landscape construction work on high-end residential projects
- Install pavers, retaining walls, stairs, natural stone and other hardscape features
- Complete excavation, grading, drainage, base preparation and compaction
- Install irrigation systems, landscape lighting, ponds, pools, and fire & water features
- Assist with construction elements including fencing, pergolas, decks and site structures
- Operate skid steers, mini excavators,



compactors and other landscape construction equipment
- Read grades, measurements, plans and layouts and execute work accurately
- Work closely with the Foreman to keep projects organized, efficient and on schedule
- Take ownership of assigned sections of a project and complete them with minimal supervision
- Help direct and support less-experienced crew members when required
- Identify problems early and bring solutions to the Foreman
- Maintain clean, organized and professional job sites
- Ensure tools, equipment and materials are used properly and cared for
- Maintain Alchemy’s standards for quality, efficiency and attention to detail

What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 2–3 years of landscape construction experience preferred
- Strong hands-on experience with hardscaping, including pavers, retaining walls and stairs
- Experience with excavation, grading and base preparation
- Comfortable operating skid steers, mini excavators and other landscape equipment
- Able to understand grades, elevations, measurements and construction layouts
- Capable of working independently without needing constant supervision
- Takes initiative and naturally looks for what needs to happen next
- Strong problem-solving skills — brings solutions, not just problems
- High work ethic and works with a sense of urgency
- Reliable, punctual and accountable
- Takes pride in craftsmanship and pays attention to details




- Able to communicate clearly with foremen and other crew members
- Willing and able to help lead less-experienced team members
- Physically capable of demanding landscape construction work
- Positive, team-oriented attitude
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Must live in the Kelowna area
