We aim to create pathways for Indigenous women and Two Spirit individuals to build skills and obtain employment in the skilled trades and growing recent green economy.About The RoleKeepers of the Circle is looking for Community Construction Skills Trainers to provide hands‑on green construction training for Indigenous participants as part of our Building in 4 Directions project. The aim of this project is to enhance employment opportunities in Indigenous communities across Canada through practical green construction skills training using our mobile trades trailer.The ideal candidate should be passionate about sustainable building practices and dedicated to teaching and supporting skill development in the skilled trades. Training sessions may take place in Kirkland Lake, New Liskeard, on reserves throughout Northern Ontario, and in other regions of Canada using our mobile trades trailers. We welcome applicants from all over Canada.The training is delivered in five‑day sessions alongside a co‑trainer as part of a larger team. These sessions may be scheduled throughout the Spring, Summer, and Fall, and possibly during the Winter, along with other responsibilities.



Trainers can commit to a minimum of a two‑week block of time up to full‑time employment for program delivery. A separate one‑week onboarding and preparation period for trainers will be required before they begin delivering training.Trainers will help participants build foundational residential construction skills for new builds and retrofits, with an emphasis on energy efficiency, sustainability, and healthy homes.Training Topics May IncludeBuilding healthy new homes and renovating and retrofitting existing homesResidential construction tools and techniquesEnergy‑efficient building practices and technologiesLow‑carbon and low‑VOC materialsBasic building science (thermal performance, air quality, moisture control, building envelopes)Pathways into the tradesRoles & ResponsibilitiesYour key responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:Deliver hands‑on, entry‑level construction training to diverse learners.Adapt and update training materials and curriculum as needed.Maintain and manage tools, equipment, and training supplies.Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support program delivery.Support participant intake, engagement, and access to wraparound supports.Promote training through community outreach, networking, and events.Use Microsoft Office for training materials, reporting, and documentation.Travel to Indigenous communities in Ontario and across Canada as required.Continue developing skills in construction, skilled trades,
