Duties
Safely operate large commercial trucks over long distances, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
Transport freight efficiently from distribution centers to various destinations across regions or countries
Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and load security
Load and unload freight using equipment such as forklifts when necessary, ensuring proper handling and placement of cargo
Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, mileage logs, and vehicle maintenance records
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues promptly
Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting minor mechanical issues to keep trucks in optimal condition
Experience
Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record and proven experience in long-haul trucking or similar roles
Demonstrated ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently in various conditions
Familiarity with freight handling procedures and the use of forklifts or other loading equipment
Knowledge of vehicle maintenance basics and automotive repair techniques to address minor mechanical concerns
Solid navigation skills with experience using GPS systems or route planning software for efficient deliveries
