Our New Liskeard office includes a collaborative team of civil and mechanical engineers, project managers, technologists, technicians, CAD specialists, surveyors, and support staff.Position OverviewEXP is seeking a Senior Civil Engineering Technologist (CET) to lead civil drafting, design support, and technical coordination on municipal infrastructure and land development projects. This role is ideal for an experienced technologist with strong AutoCAD Civil 3D expertise, a solid understanding of Ontario design standards, and the ability to mentor junior staff.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the CAD and drafting strategy for projects, including standards, templates, and best practicesDelegate, mentor, and review work completed by intermediate and junior technologistsPerform QA/QC reviews of drawings, models, and technical documentationProduce and review designs using AutoCAD Civil 3D (corridors, grading, pipe networks)Utilize GIS, Bluebeam, and MicroStation (as required by client standards)Apply Ontario design standards and guidelines, including OPSS, MTO, and municipal standardsConduct constructability reviews and provide value engineering recommendationsPerform site inspections, quantity take‑offs, field measurements, and respond to RFIsSupport Contract Administration: shop drawing reviews, redlines and revisions, as‑built drawing validationPrepare cost estimates, quantities, and level‑of‑effort planning for drafting and design tasksTrack schedules, identify project risks and issues,



and support mitigation strategiesAssist with tender packages, bid documents, and addendaAct as a client liaison (with PM support), responding to comments and coordinating with utilities and approval agenciesSupport public consultation materials, including exhibits and visual presentations, when requiredEnsure designs comply with municipal bylaws, ESA requirements, environmental constraints, and accessibility standardsQualifications & ExperienceCertified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) with OACETT membership; RCSI or RCCA designation considered an assetAdvanced experience with AutoCAD Civil 3DExperience with Bentley InRoads (asset)Robust computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel) and MS ProjectExperience in municipal infrastructure design, including roads and transportation corridors, water and wastewater systems, stormwater managementFamiliarity with MTO highway design and structural design (asset)Experience in land development projects, including preliminary and detailed design drawingsKnowledge of Ontario Provincial Standards (OPS/OPSS), MTO, and municipal design standardsField survey experience and ability to support construction administrationExcellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environmentProven ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlinesReliable transportation for travel to multiple site locations, including remote areasCompensationSalary range: $60K - $80K, based on experience, certifications, and work location.EEO StatementEXP subscribes to the Workplace Equity Program.
