Community Safety & Policing Program AdvisorOverviewReporting to the Director of Community Safety & Policing, the Community Safety & Policing Program Advisor supports Community Safety and Policing initiatives by coordinating reporting requirements, analyzing program and performance data, and strengthening relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This role ensures accurate, timely, and culturally informed reporting to leadership, Chiefs, funding partners, and justice or policing partners, while respecting First Nations data sovereignty and governance.Key ResponsibilitiesCollect, validate, analyze, and interpret qualitative and quantitative data related to community safety and policing programsEnsure data accuracy, consistency, confidentiality, and cultural relevanceMaintain organized and secure records of data, reports, and stakeholder communicationsPrepare regular and ad‑hoc reports, dashboards, briefing notes, and presentations for leadership, Chiefs, and funding bodiesCoordinate and track reporting deliverables tied to funding and contribution agreementsServe as a liaison between Community Safety and Policing programs and internal and external stakeholdersSupport stakeholder meetings, consultations, and engagement sessions through preparation of materials and summariesIdentify trends, risks, gaps, and opportunities to inform strategic planning and continuous improvementEducation and QualificationsDegree or diploma in Public Administration, Criminology, Justice Studies, Data Analytics,



Indigenous Studies, or a related fieldExperience in data analysis, reporting, program evaluation, and performance measurement in community safety, policing, justice, and/or public‑sector environmentsDemonstrated experience working with Indigenous communities or Indigenous‑governed organizationsProficiency with data analysis and reporting tools (e.G., Excel, databases, business intelligence platforms)Knowledge of First Nations governance, community safety approaches, and the impacts of colonizationStrong written, verbal, organizational, and analytical skillsExperience working with First Nations; robust understanding ofthe impacts of colonization, intergenerational trauma, and systemic barriersAbility to speak Anishinaabe or Dakota is considered a strong assetOther RequirementsMust provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector SearchMust have a valid class 5 MB driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle for business travelFlexibility for occasional evening or weekend meetings or events may be required, especially during peak engagement or reporting periodsProof of education will be required at the point of hire where an incumbent has graduated from a relevant program.Testing may form part of the selection process.Wage Range$70,000 – $85,000 AnnuallyEEO StatementPreference will be given to qualified First Nations candidates.
