Responsibilities

- Safely operate commercial trucks over long distances, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Transport freight efficiently from distribution centers to various destinations, ensuring timely deliveries.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and load security.
- Use forklifts or other heavy equipment to load and unload freight when necessary, ensuring proper handling and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers,



warehouse staff, and clients to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve issues promptly.
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to keep vehicles in optimal condition.

Experience

- Proven experience in commercial driving, especially long-haul routes across multiple states or regions.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Familiarity with freight handling procedures and heavy equipment operation such as forklifts.
- Knowledge of safety standards related to heavy vehicle operation and freight transportation.
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting to address minor vehicle issues on the road.
- Strong organizational skills for maintaining logs, delivery records, and compliance documentation.
