Join Wiikwemkoong as K’Chitwa Kwe/Oshkaabewis, providing essential cultural services for child and family support. Engage directly with elders and staff to uphold Anishnaabe values. This position focuses on collaboration with Knowledge Keepers to deliver cultural training and integrate traditions into programs.
You will play a key role in ensuring that the services provided to children, youth, and families are respectful of community standards and traditions. Your contribution will serve as a bridge to cultural continuity within the community. Key Responsibilities:
Attend monthly supervision with the Cultural Services Team Lead
Create and maintain a cultural resource list with elders
Facilitate training on Anishinaabe cultural practices
Integrate cultural traditions into program activities
Assist children, families, and community members Requirements:
In-depth understanding of Anishinaabe culture
Prior experience with First Nation communities
Knowledge of confidentiality within Child and Family Services Act
Solid familiarity with cultural teachings and protocols
Anishinaabemowin language skills are advantageous Utilize your expertise to empower the youth and families of the Wiikwemkoong community.
