Kwantlen Polytechnic University is looking for an Indigenous Designer-in-Residence to nurture creativity within the Wilson School of Design. This position offers flexibility and a chance to blend individual work with community involvement. The role is open to established or emerging Indigenous designers, focusing on creating recent projects while contributing to educational events.
Candidates will work closely with faculty and students at KPU, fostering an environment of creativity and collaboration. A robust community connection and an understanding of Indigenous practices are essential. Key Responsibilities:
Plan and host design workshops and events
Conduct guest lectures for students and faculty
Provide guidance to designers and students
Participate in WSD organized events
Regularly meet with program directors Requirements:
Design experience with Indigenous community roots
Documented artistic achievements and community involvement
Willingness to engage in diverse activities
Ability to connect and collaborate with wide-ranging disciplines
Competence in event organization with WSD Your contribution as a designer will play a key role in enhancing KPU's commitment to Indigenous engagement and education.
