Lac Seul First Nation is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Investigation Support Worker to join Obishikokaang Sagatay Gamik (OSG). Reporting to the Director of Obishikokaang Sagatay Gamik, the Investigation Support Worker supports children, youth, and families of Lac Seul First Nation during child welfare investigations by ensuring respectful engagement, accurate documentation, and coordination with agencies and service providers.This role plays a key part in receiving and managing referral notifications, supporting families through investigation processes, and ensuring the First Nation is informed and involved throughout all child welfare activities.Job Duties (include but are not limited to):Receive, record, and manage child welfare referral notifications from agencies across Canada.Support families during investigations by explaining processes and helping them understand their rights.Attend on-reserve child welfare investigations and participate virtually in off-reserve investigations.Confirm membership for children and youth involved in referrals.Conduct home assessments to identify risks and support mitigation strategies.Coordinate investigation schedules and case-related communications.Ensure that all required documentation is completed accurately and submitted appropriately.Maintain detailed and confidential case notes and upload documentation to the database.Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and community consultations.Collaborate with OSG staff, community partners, and service providers.Qualifications:Diploma or certificate in social services, human services, family services, community work, or a related field is preferred.Experience working in child welfare, family support, or a related environment is an asset.Knowledge of child welfare processes, investigation procedures, and risk indicators.Experience working with First Nations communities and people.Strong communication, advocacy, organizational, and time-management skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-stress, quick-paced environment.High standard of ethics, confidentiality, and professionalism.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems.Knowledge of the Ojibway language is an asset.Ability to travel locally and occasionally for extended periods as required.Clear Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector CheckMust be legally entitled to work in CanadaValid Ontario Class G Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation.Location: Lac Seul, ONTerm: Permanent Full TimeSalary: Starting at $24.67/hour*based on qualifications and experience.Hours: 35 hours per weekClosing Date: Open until filled.#J-18808-Ljbffr
