Position OverviewThe City of Kelowna is looking for casual Accounting Assistants to join our Financial Services team, providing coverage for Revenue (including property tax, utilities, parking, transit, etc.) and Accounts Payable functions. The role offers a rapid‑paced, detail‑oriented environment with opportunities to expand skills in collaboration, service, accounting knowledge, and related areas such as accounts receivable, legal compliance, journal entries, reconciliations, analysis, and project support.ResponsibilitiesCalculate and prepare summaries of various accounts related to departmental operations.Ensure accuracy of financial transactions.Prepare documentation for posting transactions and check output for accuracy.Apply payments on accounts.Analyze and reconcile accounts and records.Act as a prime point of contact for the public and internal staff on financial enquiries, payments and collections.Participate on special project teams.Perform system set‑up and testing.Process and draft invoices and work orders.Participate in cross‑training, organize meetings, record minutes,
