We are currently accepting resumes for a Marketing Assistant to join the Communications Team. This is a full-time, permanent position in our Edmonton Member Centre.
Job Summary:
The Marketing Assistant supports the Communications team by coordinating marketing and communications initiatives for the Training, Apprenticeship, Jobs – West (TAJ-West) team. This role acts as a liaison between TAJ-West and Communications to organize, track, and prioritize communications requests.
Working closely with internal stakeholders, the Marketing Assistant ensures projects are planned and communicated clearly, while collaborating with team members responsible for content creation and design. The role also provides support to the Marketing Manager in coordinating and executing social media activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned TAJ-West’s communications and marketing requests
- Handle communications requests from intake through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time and aligned with priorities
- Organize and prioritize a portfolio of communications work, maintaining visibility on timelines, deliverables, and competing demands
- Meet regularly with internal stakeholders to identify needs and ensure materials remain accurate and up to date and to maintain awareness of active and upcoming projects
- Prepare and submit requests for marketing materials, including key messages, objectives, and required details
- Collaborate with Communications team members (design, content, digital) to support the development and delivery of materials
- Assist in planning and organizing communications activities, including social media, email campaigns, and advertising
- Provide support to the Marketing Manager with social media activities, including content scheduling, monitoring, and engagement
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of promotional materials for events, campaigns, and outreach activities
- Support the daily workflow of the Communications team to ensure work is organized and aligned with priorities
Qualifications:
- College diploma in marketing, communications, business administration, or a related field
- Minimum 1 year of related experience
- Familiarity with social media platforms and digital communications tools
- Understanding of the construction industry is considered an asset
Skills and Experience:
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities
- Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders
- Robust attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to plan, track, and follow through on projects and requests
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative, team-based environment
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Basic proficiency with digital tools and platforms such as Microsoft Office, social media platforms, content scheduling tools, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, etc.)
Reporting and Accountability:
- This position reports directly to the Communications Director
Compensation: The annual salary will range from $57,017 to $71,076
