The Aboriginal Coalition to End Homelessness (ACEH) is hiring a Housing Transitions Support Worker to assist Indigenous Family Members in Victoria, BC. This full time role emphasizes building supportive, culturally secure relationships throughout their housing transition process. You will work closely with Family Members, helping them develop vital life skills and establish practical plans for independent market housing.
Reporting to ACEH, you'll collaborate with various team members and connect individuals with critical resources ranging from practical needs to cultural supports. Your work will be instrumental in fostering strength and resilience within the community. Key Responsibilities:
Establish respectful relationships with Indigenous Family Members
Help create actionable goals and transition plans for housing
Teach essential life skills like budgeting and grocery shopping
Advocate for Family Members during critical appointments
Facilitate connections to comprehensive community resources Requirements:
Minimum one year of relevant work experience
Experience engaging with Indigenous Peoples and vulnerable groups
Preferred: Valid First Aid and CPR Certification
BC Class 5 Driver's License required
Must receive applicable clearance through Criminal Records Review Program Support Indigenous Family Members in their journey toward independence with culturally focused assistance at ACEH.
