Education & Engagement CoordinatorSummaryDSAS is hiring the Education & Engagement Coordinator for the 2026‑27 term from September 1, 2026 to April 30, 2027. DSAS supports students in navigating university policies and processes, dealing with academic and Student Code of Conduct cases and facilitating informal and formal resolutions. The position will join a team of advocates to meet increasing demand for services.Duties and ResponsibilitiesStudent Engagement and Education InitiativesCoordinate the creation and maintenance of educational materials:Pamphlet guides to policies and informational resources, including academic integrity, accommodations, and non‑academic policiesPamphlet guides for faculty appeals and waiver policies, adapted from the Policy Coordinator’s internal resourcesCollaborate with the Ombudsperson and DSU to share and exchange prepared materials, guides, and other resources for studentsManage the inventory and distribution of outreach materials, ordering current items when necessaryWork with the External Manager to offer presentations and workshops to student organizations upon requestAssist the External Manager in creating presentation or workshop materialsSocial MediaManage the Service’s social media accountsEducation, Policy & Outreach CommitteeCo‑chair the Education, Policy & Outreach Committee (EPOC) with the Policy CoordinatorRecruit advocates to participate in EPOCHold regular meetings with committee members, coordinating availability and booking spaces as necessaryConstruct a plan for project initiatives for the year, including:One policy reform (factum‑based)
initiativeThree to four pragmatic initiatives such as:Creating new tools and resources to help advocatesCollecting information and data on identified issues to better support affected studentsUpdating internal operating procedures for the ServiceAssign advocates to each initiative and assist them in developing a project timeline for the yearSupport project groups and, when necessary, take the lead on initiativesFollow up with project groups to remove barriers and ensure progressService EngagementPlan at least two social events for the Service each semester, including:Handling external communications for pricing and booking inquiriesAdvertising events to advocates, providing sufficient information, notice, and encouraging participationEnsuring the events offered engage a range of interests and are approachable to many advocatesPlan other advocate engagement tools with input from the executive teamGeneral Executive ResponsibilitiesTake the lead on complex or last‑minute cases as neededBe prepared for a larger caseload and to miss class for student hearingsTake on cases when no other advocates are available, including those with tight time constraintsProvide support to volunteer advocates, such as:Answering questions as they ariseExplaining policies, processes, and related conceptsProviding useful templates, sample drafts, and other resourcesReviewing advocate written submissions or other documentsFacilitating opportunities for external support for advocates (debriefs, counseling, reverse‑shadowing,
