Overview Doane Grant Thornton is a large and growing professional services firm that still feels like a community. The Financial Accountant is a position that demonstrates financial analysis, data entry and basic accounting skills. The accountant has responsibilities to maintain many of the teams’ tools and data and be integral in the everyday workings of the team. The goal of this role is to understand the functions of the broader team, expand their skills and get involved in supporting projects and relationships with all Finance Support teams. Responsibilities Preparing financial and operational reporting using D365 Finance and Operations, Excel, and Power Query Monitoring work in progress and accounts receivable and analyzing impacts to profit and loss Supporting identification of cross selling activity and contingent fee reporting Delivering weekly and month end reporting, including management committee materials Responding to reporting questions from internal stakeholders and external service colleagues Collaborating with teams to resolve data issues and ensure timely, accurate reporting Qualifications Basic understanding of accounting principles Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks Advanced experience in MS Excel, Power Query, and/or D365 – Finance & Operations experience is an asset Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry and financial analysis Good communication skills, both written and verbal Min level of education: University degree and/or college diploma ideally in business commerce, or accounting Min years of experience: 1-2 years in accounting or finance support role (including internship)

To help start the conversation, the current salary range for this role is $49,600–$55,800 in Toronto.
