Job Details Job title: Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician, Field
Reports to: General Supervisor
Shift: 5x2, Monday–Friday
Location: Sudbury area for underground service role (Underground mine in Sudbury)




Allowances: This role is eligible for additional premiums
Safety Sensitive: Yes – drug & alcohol testing, physical demand fit testing, RCMP criminal record check and 5-year driving record required
Travel: Up to 50% travel
Relocation: Not eligible
Key Job Responsibilities Perform maintenance, repairs, and servicing on underground mining equipment including LHDs, haul trucks, jumbos, and bolters
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
Replace or adjust components and parts to restore equipment performance
Work directly at customer sites, ensuring timely and effective service
Uphold and contribute to a robust safety-first culture in every task
Qualifications/Requirements Valid 421A Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certification (Red Seal is an asset)
Proven experience with underground mining equipment required
Ability to travel and work overtime as needed
No restrictions for accessing any mine site
Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted
Strong diagnostic skills across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and accountability
Self-motivated, adaptable,



and able to manage shifting priorities
Solid problem-solving skills and a results-driven mindset
Comfortable working independently or as part of a team
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
