Transport Laberge | Fleet / Maintenance Shops | Full-time, Permanent
Transport Laberge is looking for a Fleet Asset Manager to support the strategy, performance, and optimization of its fleet. This role contributes to decisions related to acquisitions, replacements, costs, utilization, and equipment value.
Main Responsibilities
Fleet Strategy and Planning
Develop the fleet master plan, taking into account operational needs, company growth, and equipment availability.
Recommend the best decisions regarding asset purchase, replacement, retention, or disposal to ensure a high-performing fleet aligned with operations.
Acquisitions, Disposals, and Lifecycle Management
Oversee equipment acquisitions, sales, transfers, and disposals in collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
Optimize the vehicle lifecycle by considering total cost of ownership, residual value, actual utilization, and the mechanical condition of assets.
Budget, Data, and Financial Performance
Prepare financial analyses to support decisions related to investments, replacements, and fleet optimization projects.
Monitor CAPEX budgets, analyze operating costs, and produce key indicators to support rigorous and profitable asset management.
Telematics, Utilization, and Optimization
Use telematics and operational data to measure vehicle utilization, identify underused assets, and pinpoint improvement opportunities.
Recommend optimizations to improve equipment availability, reduce unnecessary costs, and support better planning of fleet needs.
Strategic Inventory and Partners
Collaborate with procurement, operations,
maintenance shops, and key partners to ensure the availability of critical parts and required equipment.
Maintain strong supplier relationships, monitor market trends, and help identify solutions that improve fleet performance.
Candidate Profile
Experience in fleet management, transportation, procurement, operational finance, or asset management.
Strong analytical skills and comfort working with budgets, data, KPIs, and dashboards.
Good understanding of total cost of ownership, equipment lifecycle, and CAPEX decisions.
Rigor, sound judgment, sense of priorities, and ability to present clear recommendations.
French/English bilingualism is an asset.
