OpportunityLead environmental excellence – This is a senior leadership opportunity to shape environmental strategy and delivery across one of Canada’s most agile and diverse regions. As Environmental Management Director – Prairies & North, you will provide regional leadership for environmental management services across the Prairies & North region. The role focuses on business growth, strategic oversight of environmental service delivery, safety and risk management, and operational excellence, while building strong client relationships and leading geographically dispersed, multidisciplinary teams to deliver compliant, high‑quality outcomes.Environmental Management in the Prairies & North provides integrated environmental consulting services that support planning, approvals, construction, operations, and closure across commercial, energy, mining, transportation, government, and industrial sectors. Core services include environmental site assessments, contaminated lands assessment and remediation, environmental liability management, regulatory compliance and permitting, air quality and noise/vibration assessments, occupational hygiene and safety, hazardous materials management, and environmental monitoring. The group works closely with ecology, water, geotechnical, and engineering teams to deliver practical, risk‑based solutions tailored to complex northern and prairie environments, with a strong focus on safety, regulatory compliance, and sustainable project delivery.Your influence will be felt across Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Nunavut and the Northwest Territories – partnering with clients, regulators,



Indigenous communities, and internal teams to deliver sustainable outcomes that matter.Your ImpactIdentify, lead and partner on growth strategiesProvide strategic leadership for environmental management services across the Prairies & North regionSet regional vision, priorities, and performance targets aligned with WSP’s national environmental strategyLead and mentor senior technical and people leaders, building high‑performing, inclusive teamsStrengthen client relationships and support business development through trusted advisory leadershipCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate environmental considerations into infrastructure and resource projectsSupport risk management, a culture of safety, quality assurance, and continuous improvement across regional programs.Represent WSP with clients, regulators, Indigenous partners, and key stakeholders.The Skills That Set You ApartA strong desire to grow the business with a can‑do attitude15+ years of progressive experience in environmental consulting, engineering consulting, or related fieldsProfessional designation (e.G., P.Eng., P.Geo., RPBio, or equivalent)



or eligibility for registrationProven leadership experience overseeing regional or multi‑office teamsStrong working knowledge of Canadian environmental legislation, approvals, and regulatory processesTrack record of client relationship management and business growthAbility to lead across diverse geographies, cultures, and stakeholder environmentsCompensationAB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $149,900 – $201,400MB & ON: $136,800 – $191,000NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $135,400 – $182,400Disclosure: The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
