Associate Director, Student Engagement, Intercultural ProgramsStaff: Full Time- no fixed term Langley Township, BC, CA6 days ago Requisition ID: 1263Salary Range: $60,000.00 To $65,000.00 AnnuallyPosition Purpose & SummaryThe Associate Director of Student Engagement, Intercultural Programs works as part of the Student Engagement Department and the Student Life Division to advance TWU’s vision and mission with intercultural programs and international students across multiple campuses. The Associate Director oversees a dedicated team of student leaders committed to engaging in intercultural programming that serves international and domestic students through bridging them into the TWU community.Key Areas of AccountabilityIntercultural Program ManagementAssist the Director of Student Engagement team to develop an overall vision and strategic priorities that will enhance intercultural and global engagement at TWU, increase retention among international students, and increase the number of international students involved in student leadership.Provide and implement a theology of the global church, cross-cultural engagement, integral mission and development work.Provide leadership to the Intercultural Programs team (ICP) to provide intercultural and international programs for students with meaningful discipleship and leadership opportunities, connections to relevant services, and hosted gathering spaces and events.Assist in the development of a vibrant hospitable space on campus for intercultural and international programs, developing cross-cultural relationships, impacting them spiritually, and connecting them to relevant services.Oversee the selection, training, and supervision of student leaders for the ICP team.Oversee Culture Clubs promoting programming to serve cultural groups within the TWU student body.Develop and implement a strategy for improving the integration of international undergraduate residence and commuter students across the Langley campus.Promote diversity, multiculturalism, global awareness, and cultural understanding across Student Life, the University, and develop strategic relationships with the Office of Inclusive Excellence and other departments (Enrolment, Registrar, Learning Commons, CCCD, Service Hub, etc.).Work with the broader Student Life division to support intercultural and international student engagement and participation in accordance with the University’s mission, vision, values,



and relevant policies.Participate in various university task forces and discussions which serve to improve diverse students’ experience.International Student OrientationParticipate as an active member of the Orientation Committee planning team.Oversee international student pre-orientation and execution to better serve international students’ transition to university life.Student Engagement SupportAttend Student Engagement team meetings for collaboration, planning and career development.Assist the Director of Student Engagement in the development of new programming ventures to expand student involvement and student leadership participation.Provide measurable assessment reports as required to the Director of Student Engagement to enable goal planning and objective setting.Assist with key aspects of the Student Leadership Program such as Student Leadership Retreat, EXPO and other relevant initiatives.Key Internal InteractionsStudent Life, Office of Inclusive Excellence, Learning Commons, Enrolment, Centre for Career and Calling Development, Service HubReports ToDirector of Student EngagementReports12 ICP Student Leaders, 9 Culture Club VolunteersKey External StakeholdersPrograms and social services provided by the Canadian government, businesses, and churches.Standards & RequirementsEducation & CertificationsMaster’s preferredExperience3-5 years of leadership experience working in a related field.Specific experience working in a cross-cultural environment, academic setting, and engaging with international students and TCKs is an asset.KnowledgeSecond language fluencyMulticultural and diversity fluencySkills & AbilitiesExcellent global and cross-cultural understanding.Strong individual and group leadership skills.Demonstrated ability to build interdepartmental relationships that bridge connections across different departments.Strategic and creative thinker with the ability to uniquely engage international students.Skilled in tactful communication (written and oral).Ability to organize and direct work according to schedule, time, and budget pressures.Advanced team leadership, discipleship,
