Edmonton, AB | Hybrid (In office 1 day per week or 4 days per month)Salary:$80,000 – $95,000 annually (based on experience)DescriptionOur client is seeking a knowledgeable and compassionate Disability Advisor to oversee Short-Term Disability (STD) and Long-Term Disability (LTD) claims. In this role, you will be responsible for initial adjudication, ongoing case management, and supporting clients through recovery and return-to-work planning. You’ll collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver fair, timely, and well-informed decisions while ensuring a high standard of client care.What You’ll Be DoingAdjudicate Short-Term Disability and Long-Term Disability claims in a timely and accurate mannerApply policy provisions and industry regulations, including CLHIA guidelines, to all decisionsDevelop, implement, and evaluate effective case management strategiesMonitor treatment plans, rehabilitation progress, and return-to-work programsEnsure accurate and timely benefit paymentsCommunicate clearly and professionally (written and verbal) with claimants, employers, healthcare providers, and internal teamsManage a portfolio of claims and develop subject matter expertise on assigned groupsCollaborate cross-functionally with Medical Underwriting, Group Underwriting, Sales, Group Administration, and Accounting to exchange information related to claims, eligibility, and financialsWhat You Must HaveDegree or diploma in a health-related field (e.G., Nursing, Kinesiology, Rehabilitation Medicine, Social Work)
