Reporting to the Health Promotions Supervisor, this role supports specialty health programs through evidence‑based assessments, exercise prescription, and coaching. Working with individuals living with chronic conditions, you’ll help improve mobility, independence, and quality of life in a supportive, community‑focused environment.If the following sounds like meaningful work, then this job might be for you!Reporting to the Health Promotions Supervisor, support YMCA Health Promotion Programs including Health Hips & Knees, Healthy Hearts, Breathe Well, and Healthy Aging and Exercise is MedicineUtilizing CSEP guidelines, carry out intake and ongoing assessment of Health Promotion Program participants and any Y members who have health concerns beyond the scope of practice of a regular fitness leader.Provide client centered one‑on‑one coaching and exercise prescription to clients with chronic health conditions to help individuals maintain functional independence and quality of lifeCollaborate with the Supervisor, Manager and colleagues to create a culture of exceptional customer experience and community for members, staff, and volunteersLead and support specialty health group fitness classesDeliver exceptional health and fitness programs and services as per YMCA Health Coaching and CSEP standards and best practicesSupport the Seniors Health Assessments twice a yearEnsure safety of all members, participants, staff,



and property by following YMCA standards/policies/procedures and ensuring they are maintained amongst all members and staffActively participate in and promote philanthropy through the YMCA Association initiativesOther duties as requiredWe’d love to hear from people with:Individuals planning to acquire their CSEP CEP (Clinical Exercise Physiologist) certificationCurrent Weight training/Personal Training Certificate by a recognized governing body (e.G. BCRPA, CFES, CSEP)Current Standard First-Aid with CPR-C certificationStrong interpersonal and communication skillsGroup Fitness Instruction Certification is an asset (e.G.
