With a focus on HVAC integration, energy management, and building automation networks, the BAS program develops forward-thinking professionals ready to support smart building infrastructure in residential, commercial, and institutional settings.We are currently recruiting for a continuous, salaried instructor who will bring technical expertise, leadership, and enthusiasm to our growing Building Automation Systems Technology team. The successful candidate will bring their strong background in HVAC systems, building control technologies, and energy-efficient system design, and will play a key role in preparing students for rewarding careers in the building automation technologies sector.We are seeking an energetic leader who is passionate about student success and committed to innovation in polytechnic education.**The successful candidate will:*** Possess strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, control strategies, automation networks, and energy management systems* Demonstrate the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced instructional workplace* Bring enthusiasm, industry insight, and instructional creativity to support program growth and team culture**Key Responsibilities:*** Prepare and present learning outcomes and activities in a classroom, laboratory and industry setting* Participating in curriculum development,
program reviews and course reviews* Facilitate the learning process by utilizing instructional strategies that ensure efficient and effective delivery of course materials* Manage instructional delivery and set the tone and climate for a safe and effective learning environment* Create assessment tools to evaluate the learning process and maintain progress records* Provide early and on-going coaching and tutoring for students to maximize student success and retention* Respond to student issues* Utilize appropriate educational technology for presentations, communications and program promotions* Maintenance and/or submission of program/student records accurately and promptly* Maintain professional and ethical relationships with students, colleagues, and industry partners* Actively participate in the strategies of NAIT’s Strategic Plan and NAIT’s Academic Plan as identified by the institute* Utilize regular student feedback to identify and implement instructional improvement* Improve the quality of instruction through professional development activities* Other duties as assigned**Skills & Abilities:*** Excellent interpersonal and communication skills* Solid commitment to student learning and success* Effective classroom management and instructional planning* Proficiency with digital tools and educational technologies**Qualifications:*** High School Diploma* Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered where formal education aligns with recognized industry certifications (e.G., BAS programming credentials, energy auditing certifications, or control systems training)* Minimum 5 years of recent, relevant industry experience in building automation, HVAC controls, or energy systems* Experience with building automation platforms such as BACnet, LON, Modbus, or proprietary control systems* Teaching or instructional experience at the post-secondary or industry level is a strong assetApplicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services (WES), International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS)
or the Comparative Education Services (CES).**Remuneration**Will commensurate with education and experience.
