The Distribution Coordinator works closely with both the Customer Service team and our freight carriers to deliver good service to our customers while optimizing flows to minimize distribution costs. The Distribution Coordinator also works with the broader Logistics team that is focused on reinventing the way we do business and how we serve our customers. As part of this team, the Distribution Coordinator plays a key role in supporting optimization of movements across Canada and the U.S.,
and in seeking out and implementing new technology and processes to push our business forward. Having a strategic mindset paired with strong analytical skills are keys to success in this role.What you’ll be contributing:Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.Support the Customer Service team in daily distribution planning activities, and in particular ensure proper balancing of loads between carriers for optimal customer service.Generate, maintain and report on key metrics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.Maintain freight‑related data and tools, process carrier invoices.Support various shipping and sub‑contract activities (bagging and blending facilities).Respond to, coordinate and support resolution of various logistics incidents (safety, customer service, quality).Coordinate delivery set up for new customer locations (freight rates, site visits, delivery requirements).Occasionally visit various locations as required (customers, terminals, carrier locations).Support and participate in multifunctional team initiatives and special studies.Continuously seek and implement ways to improve performance and improve efficiencies.Lead any other studies, projects, or assignments as required.Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.To succeed in this position,
