Position: Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) Solution Architect
Location: Canada (Remote), Possible Occasional travel to Saskatoon
Duration: 4 Months - Part time
Language: English (French is nice to have)
Experience
- 15+ years of Oracle ecosystem experience
- 10+ years in Oracle EBS architecture and transformation programs
- Experience leading large-scale EBS cloning, migration, carve-out, divestiture, or data center/cloud transition initiatives
- Proven architecture leadership across Oracle EBS, Oracle Database, Middleware, Infrastructure, and Cloud platforms
- Experience working with executive stakeholders, application owners, infrastructure teams, and system integrators
Role Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Oracle EBS Solution Architect to lead the architecture and technical governance of a large-scale Oracle EBS environment cloning and divestiture program.
The architect will be responsible for defining and governing the end-to-end cloning strategy, target-state architecture, environment isolation design, disaster recovery considerations, database synchronization methodology, cloud landing zone requirements, and operational readiness of multiple independent Oracle EBS environments.
This role is primarily architecture and technical leadership focused and is not expected to perform hands‑on administration, cloning execution, database operations, or system engineering activities.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Architecture Leadership
- Define the overall Oracle EBS cloning and divestiture architecture.
- Establish architecture principles, standards,
and governance across all project stages.
- Serve as the primary technical authority for Oracle EBS environment separation and replication strategies.
- Lead architecture reviews, design workshops, and technical decision-making sessions.
- Ensure alignment between business divestiture objectives and technical implementation approaches.
Oracle EBS Cloning Strategy
- Define and govern the Gold Environment architecture and cloning methodology.
- Establish repeatable environment provisioning and template-based deployment standards.
- Review and approve environment cloning procedures and validation criteria.
- Define application isolation, configuration segregation, and workplace independence requirements.
- Ensure cloned environments meet operational and production readiness standards.
Oracle Database Architecture
- Define Oracle Database architecture standards for all cloned environments.
- Provide oversight for:
- Oracle Database 19c
- Oracle Data Guard architecture
- RMAN refresh strategy
- Recovery and rollback approaches
- Database synchronization practices
- Review and approve backup, restore, and database refresh methodologies.
- Ensure database architecture supports future divestiture and transition requirements.
Cloud & Infrastructure Architecture
- Define target-state architecture for Oracle EBS hosted on Kyndryl Cloud Uplift / Azure.
- Review and approve:
- Landing Zone Architecture
- Network Design
- Storage Architecture
- Security Controls
- Connectivity Architecture
- Account Segregation Strategy
- Define architecture standards for AIX, Windows, and Linux hosted workloads.
- Guide cloud onboarding and environment provisioning teams.
Application & Integration Architecture
- Review architecture impacts on:
- Oracle EBS 12.2.x
- Oracle Middleware
- Oracle OEM
- AventX
- WebMethods
- Viziya
- Oracle Data Warehouse
- HVR
- Assess dependencies and risks relating to upstream and downstream integrations.
- Establish application separation and coexistence strategies during divestiture.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Identify architecture risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans.
- Review security, compliance, and operational requirements.
- Ensure architecture aligns with enterprise governance standards.
- Lead technical design authority reviews and approval processes.
- Drive design sign-offs and architecture acceptance.
Testing & Readiness Oversight
- Define technical acceptance criteria for each project wave.
- Review smoke, functional, integration, and cutover readiness outcomes.
- Validate production readiness before go-live.
- Define rollback and contingency strategies.
Stakeholder Management
- Act as the executive technical advisor to business and IT leadership.
- Coordinate with:
- Program Managers
- Infrastructure Architects
