Order Picker – Forklift Operator

Springhill Lumber (Wholesale) Ltd. is looking for an experienced Order Picker - Forklift Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will assist with customer orders, forklift operation, and the safe handling of building materials.

This is a full-time, Monday to Friday position with some overtime as required. The role is best suited for someone who enjoys active, hands-on work and can safely prepare customer orders, operate a forklift, and move and secure building materials in a busy yard and warehouse environment.

The successful candidate will receive 100% company paid benefits after 90 days.

Rate of Pay: Depending on Experience

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Accurately pick, count, check and prepare customer orders for pickup or delivery.
- Safely load, unload, move and secure building materials, including drywall and related accessories, using a forklift and manual handling methods.
- Handle materials carefully to prevent damage to products and merchandise.
- Complete paperwork accurately, including tallying product changes as needed.
- Assist with loading and unloading customer and delivery vehicles.
- Maintain a clean, secure and orderly yard and warehouse.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service.
- Other duties as required.

Requirements & Qualifications:

- Hold a valid Class 5(F) driver’s licence.
- Obtain and maintain a current driver’s abstract (issued within the last 3 months).
- Previous experience and knowledge in the lumber, building materials,



or a related industry is an asset.
- Previous forklift experience; forklift certification is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical labour, including lifting and carrying (over 50 lbs.), bending and repetitive movements on a daily basis.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written) with excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, physically demanding setting.
- Dependable, punctual, friendly, and organized, with a strong work ethic and excellent attendance.
- Reliable vehicle is required, as this is a non-bus route.

Working Conditions:

- Exposure to dust and extreme changes in temperature and weather when working outside year-round.
- Safety boots and safety equipment are required.
- Fast-paced, high-volume environment.
