POSITION TITLE: Part time Maintenance Coordinator for the Gallery and Bennett

Centre

POSITION SUMMARY: As an employee of Bennett Village, the Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for completing the routine and preventative maintenance for both the Gallery at Bennett and Bennett Centre Long Term Care Home including the performance of audits related to current building codes and the Fixing Long Term Care Home’s Act.

REPORTS TO: Director, Environmental Services

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Inspect, evaluate and recommend repair required for the buildings and/or operational equipment.

· Identify and document building and equipment deficiencies found in the Home.

· Maintain and audit the maintenance binder.

· Perform facility preventative maintenance audits.

· Liaise with Bennett Village management and staff as necessary.

· Contact the appropriate vendor for larger repairs.

· Perform minor plumbing and general handy man repairs.

· Garbage and minor snow removal, if required.

· Procurement of necessary materials through approved local vendors.

· Other tasks as required





· Comply with the Bennett Villages’ policies and procedures, including Code of Conduct, Confidentiality, and Privacy policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Minimum secondary school diploma (trade certifications an asset).
- Five (5) years proven experience with electrical, plumbing and/or general repair work, painting, and janitorial practices in commercial buildings. (own tools an asset).
- Possess; Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and W.H.M.I.S. training.
- Knowledge of commercial, Long Term Care Home and Hospital building regulation an asset
- Must be competent within the meaning of the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Be capable of issuing clear and understandable written and oral instructions
- Possess excellent public relations skills.
- A Vulnerable Sector Screening check completed in the last 6 months.
- First Aid and CPR Certifications preferred.
- The ability to read, write, and communicate orally in English.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

COMPENSATION Starting wage is commensurate with experience. This position is a significant growth opportunity, and a full benefit package is negotiable.
