About the company Our client is a well‑established insurance brokerage based in Toronto, known for its collaborative team environment and strong operational stability. About the role This is a full‑time, permanent Accountant position supporting a busy and structured finance function. The role is well‑suited for someone early in their accounting career who is looking to build strong foundational experience across reconciliations, month‑end, and general ledger activities. You’ll be joining a close‑knit team with solid mentorship, exposure to a variety of accounting processes, and support toward professional development (including CPA). Responsibilities Perform bank and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy across financial records Prepare and post journal entries (daily, monthly, and annual) Assist with month‑end and year‑end close processes Maintain and support general ledger activities Support accounts payable and receivable functions Ensure financial records are accurate, organized,
and up to date Assist with trust accounting processes, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and proper handling of client funds Assist with ad‑hoc tasks and projects as directed by the Controller Requirements 2–3 years of accounting experience in a corporate environment Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Basic understanding of Canadian accounting principles Working toward a CPA designation (or interest in pursuing) is an asset, but not essential Trust accounting exposure is considered a huge asset for this role Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work both independently and within a team environment Strong communication skills Compensation & Benefits Salary: $65,000 – $80,000 Flexible working hours Hybrid workingflexibility after probation period Overtime is banked and can be taken as time off 2–3 weeks’ vacation RRSP contribution: 3% Extended health benefits CPA/education support (dues reimbursed) Regular team and social events Legal Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada, including holding any required permits. #J-18808-Ljbffr
