Development Officer – FundraisingThe Development Officer will strengthen organizational sustainability and community impact by conducting comprehensive grant prospect research, preparing a multi cycle grants calendar, and drafting funding proposals for government, foundation, corporate, and community funding streams. The youth employee will gather impact data from CentreCanada’s program dashboards, assist with budget preparation, compile outcome narratives, and support timely and accurate reporting submissions to funders. They will contribute to donor stewardship by preparing updates, donor appreciation materials, and personalized thank-you packages.The participant will help plan and execute fundraising events, canvassing campaigns, and community engagement initiatives connected to youth mental health, food security, newcomer services, and academic support programming. Responsibilities include coordinating event logistics, supporting volunteer teams, designing promotional materials, engaging community partners, preparing sponsorship packages, and ensuring inclusive outreach that reflects the needs of diverse cultural and linguistic communities.The youth employee will use a range of digital tools including grant databases, spreadsheet budgeting and forecasting tools, Salesforce or similar CRM systems, cloud-based collaboration platforms, project management software, and digital design programs. They will also assist in developing dashboards that visualize fundraising performance and community outcomes, with supervised exposure to responsible AI tools for data organization, research support, and first-draft content generation.Through these activities, the participant will build strong transferable skills in skilled writing, research methodology, digital literacy, fundraising strategy, partnership building, budgeting, event coordination, communication, negotiation support, and collaborative teamwork. This position directly strengthens local nonprofit capacity, supports community events,



and advances local priorities related to youth mental health, food security, and vulnerable newcomer families by helping secure long term program resources.
